Dave started writing songs in the mid 1970s with the high point being, perhaps, reaching the area finals of the “Melody Maker Folk Rock Contest” in 1976.

After a 15 year or so break due to career/family- the usual, he emerged as a “born again folkie” at the age of around 50. This resulted in 6 solo CDs , two with wife Julia in “On the Fence”, and more recently in collaboration with Steve in the production of a couple of fundraising CDs for “Rainbows Hospice, and now the “Legends of Leicester/Leicestershire – vol 2” album
He writes both comedy and serious songs with a strong element of social observation and a sense of humour often described as “wicked”.
